Education Secretary Arne Duncan spoke to this year’s gathering of the “Mom Congress.” In his speech, he told all about his family engagement ideas, but didn’t say anything about…perhaps asking parents what they thought might be needed. Here’s the video:
So many well-intentioned people don’t have much of a clue when it comes to listening….
Larry,
I’m frankly surprised you’d make this judgement when you were not present — this is not the entire speech, it’s 2 minutes! Nor does it show what happened at the Q and A after his talk. If you want most of the transcript, I typed it up – I say most b/c I did miss a few sentences.
I did attend. I am a mom. I am also a teacher. I hope you will consider asking me or another delegate who was present about the entirety of what was said. I was very impressed with Duncan and found him to really “get it”.
My post about what Duncan said will be up on Imaginationsoup.net next week. Please stop by for the entire picture.
