Grants For Family Engagement

Nominate the 2013 Toyota Teacher of The Year — here’s an excerpt from the announcement:

Family engagement is a key element in realizing the nation’s goals to improve education for our children, and it has rightfully captured the attention and focus of local, state, and national leaders. The National Center for Family Literacy (NCFL) is a family engagement leader in many ways, and the Toyota Teacher of the Year Award both celebrates and furthers these efforts.

NCFL is now accepting nominations for the 2013 Toyota Teacher of the Year Award. This award will give an outstanding educator $20,000 to support an innovative family engagement project and significant national recognition for their exemplary work with families. In addition, this educator will win a scholarship to the National Conference on Family Literacy. One national runner-up will receive a $2,500 grant for his/her program and a scholarship to the conference.

Educators directly working with children and families in family-focused education programs, Title I schools, preschool programs, libraries or other community-based organizations are eligible for this award.
